See our DVMK50 Video on our Multimedia Page.

What Pump and Boom/s will I need on my High Rise Building?

What equipment that is required on your site is dependant on many factors, Such as what heights are to be pumped, Will the pump be indoors or outdoors as electric or Diesel options come in to play. How many pours will occur. Are multiple Booms, Pumps and Pipelines required. Whether the Boom is mounted on a Jump Form, on self supporting Crane Towers or on self climbing tubes fitted inside penetrations in each deck poured.

What are the rates?
Rates are dependant on many factors and our trained Professional will custom quote each job based on site plans taking into consideration number of booms, pumps, pipelines, total cubic metres and estimate how many visits will be expected to complete the job.

These many factors will be considered by our Team when deciding what equipment is best suited to your site.

A brief overview of what concrete pumping equipment we might supply is outlined below:

What is a Separate placing boom?
A Separate Placing boom is a Boom that is stand alone and can be detached or attached or mounted on Trucks, Towers, or Cross Frames. Our Boom sizes range from 50 metres to 12 metres meaning large footprints to small confined areas can be pumped with ease.

What High Rise Pumps are used?
Depending on the size of the job and floor plan, High pressure line pumps may be used on the street until basement levels are complete and then alternatively High pressure Electric or Diesel generated Piston Pumps can be used once off street access has been attained.
One of our newer pumps to the fleet is capable of pumping concrete 100 floors and makes an unbelievable 3190PSI!
A two truck Agitator feed is preferred and has the potential of pumping 80 cubic metres per hour of concrete.

What pipeline system is used?
In High Rise applications a High Pressure concrete pump is used thus Pipeline able to withstand this High Pressure without failing. Expected pressures near the Pump can be up to 3200PSI. As pressures are greatest near the pump new or near new Pipeline is always used. Generally the Pipes are in 3 metre lengths and are fixed vertically inside stairwells or similar through small penetrations in the deck. they are clamped together, safety clipped, electronically tagged and barcoded and Ultrasonic thickness tests are performed each month to ensure the thickness does not fall below a safe level, as concrete acts like sandpaper wearing down the wall thickness of the pipeline.

What wash out procedures are used?
Meales has implemented an environmentally friendly water washout system that ensures all concrete wash water is recycled. concrete sediment is filtered from the water with the use of a QUAD interceptor system. And the water is used again. The Water contains High PH levels and cannot enter any sewer system.
